spk_1:   0:58
Good morning, everybody. Today we have Jodi era meanie here, and I'm she's doing that's been really interesting in Palm Beach County. They're trying to support the Corona virus and everything we're going through. Do you want to tell me a little bit about your project and how it started?

spk_0:   1:15
Yes, So we were looking for ways to show support throughout the community, and we came across an organization called House Hunters that we're promoting the idea of placing hearts in your yard or your window so that people saw them when they were out walking or driving, and it promoted some hope and supported our frontline workers. So I thought that would be a great way to should know our support. And so we started creating these hearts that people could place out for people to see.

spk_1:   1:48
Well, I really feel like anything. That's a positive message right now. It's very special. But how did you guys end up in Palm Beach County? You and your husband, Jamie, is your husband?

spk_0:   1:59
Yes, we're from upstate New York. About 10 years ago, we were just looking for a change and the housing market was down. And so we started looking at houses. We had some friends that lived in the area and finding a house and purchasing it in 2010 and we packed up and moved down.

spk_1:   2:19
Well, good for you, and I'm just your happy made the change. I came from Maryland myself. Maryland was a great state, but it's better here, right?

spk_0:   2:27
Yeah, it's the weather alone is hard to be coming from that area. We dealt with a lot of colder, gloomier days in Florida Yeah,

spk_1:   2:38
I hear upstate New York is pretty tough living. I mean, you know, it's beautiful, like if you get it once. But when you've lived with it for Monday after Mont, it must be difficult. And what business were you guys in when you were up north, where you and the printing business is your now are? What did she do up north?

spk_0:   2:56
My brother and my husband's brother owned a sign shop together. So my husband, Jamie, worked with them. I was a corporate travel manager. Oh, wow. I know Total switch gears. But Florida. I took my job remotely, and I was able to stay with my company for another six years ago, has kind of switched gears. He worked for a couple different sign shops in Florida for a while and then went into the wireless industry until we opened up one of our businesses, Legends of Escape, where he went full time working for that business. So then over the years, as we started growing, he started acquiring pieces to four him to create his own sign shop, which he did in 2018.

spk_1:   3:47
Oh, wow. That's amazing. So do you guys are you on Lee doing signs Do you do anything else is just strictly signs that you print and make

spk_0:   3:55
So his passion is really using the CNC router machine. So we do all sorts of different things that can make you that, like we do shudders for houses which are just beautiful. They're like actual address plaques, like a seahorse with your address number on it that you can put outside like decorative stuffs. We have a friend that does a lot of art shows, so he'll route out surf boards and different shapes that he can paint his own are on and then south. And then we do vinyl and then repair. And you know everything else that comes along with servicing of existing signs.

spk_1:   4:32
Well, that's really exciting on me Being a realtor. I would maybe be interested in getting some of those signs that, you know, like the seahorse one. You were saying that would be a great closing gift for a client.

spk_0:   4:43
Yeah, so maybe

spk_1:   4:44
we should reach out to some of the realtors. That's great. I'd love to see some of those, but then on a different tangent, you started the Legends of Escape. So how did that come about?

spk_0:   4:56
So we started legends in 2015. We were both still working full time, and I just came across the idea I had played an escape room. If you're familiar with them, it's an interactive game that you play with a group of people. You have to work together as a group to solve a series of puzzles and tasks within a certain amount of time. I am late one, and I just fell in love with the idea, and for about six months it was all I could talk about. I just love our group together. It was intriguing. We had to think outside of the box, working from home, which I did. Even though I had social interactions with my friends, I didn't really have any group problem solving in my life really stood out to me, and after about six months of begging, I was finally able to open. My husband said, Let's do it So we were the first escape room in Palm Beach County. We started off really small and then over the years grew too. There are six escape rooms, so we have a pretty good site facility in downtown West Palm Beach, where our goal there is just creating some fun memories for people doing corporate team building, helping boost the morale of different groups and providing as a training, exercise, different corporations.

spk_1:   6:13
What are some of the games of people complain? Your escape rooms?

spk_0:   6:17
Currently the games that we have, we have an area 51 game that's a pretty one. And of Houdini, which is the magician. So he's disappeared on you is up to you to figure out howto finish his final show. We have a scarier themed room for people that are into that. It's not for everyone, but there is a group of people that do like the horror themed. And then on the flip side of that, we have a room called Monica's apartment, which is beamed after the TV show Friends.

spk_1:   6:47
Oh, wow, that's fun. Okay,

spk_0:   6:50
uh, that's a super fun game, and then we have some elevators.

spk_1:   6:53
Okay. All right, well, I'm excited to try it. When this is all over, I'm gonna I think probably will maybe have an event for I love Palm Beach and we can invite a bunch of people and have different games available, but I think it

spk_0:   7:06
be a

spk_1:   7:06
great team building for my team. Also,

spk_0:   7:08
you know,

spk_1:   7:09
working together, which we do every day. But, um, there's always a problem in real estate to solve, but I think it just be good. You know, lots of my coworkers. They always just want to do a happy hour. And I don't think that you get that much accomplished when you do that. I think this would be a better out. We're in West Palm Beach. Are you guys

spk_0:   7:27
were downtown West Palm Beach. 3 to 4 to tourists. Treat my new clue. Your Yeah, We're inside the tram building.

spk_1:   7:35
Well, that's exciting. That is a great location. Are you super busy all the time, or is it mainly a weekend thing or

spk_0:   7:42
Yeah, we are pretty. Study weekends definitely are busier than the week days, but we are usually, you know, just facilitating throughout the week as well.

spk_1:   7:51
Okay, well, so I guess out of your sign businesses, but emerged is the heart. So just explain to people what they look like. So they're small heart, right? How big would you say it as I just saw the picture online.

spk_0:   8:05
It's 11 inches and I kind of had to make something that was manageable. To be able to shift 11 inches was the size that would fit nicely in an envelope and needed weatherproof. It sounds like the chloroform board, but you're probably your realtor. Signs are made on a swell your open house signs, right? So, yeah, so we could be outside. The heart itself has a hashtag together apart, which is just supporting them. Although we are social distancing and staying inside, we're apart. But we're still together. That's really the message that we want to send, is said. We are supporting the social distancing, but we're still all together.

spk_1:   8:42
I think that's really special thing to do and that the pictures. So it's a heart with a bunch of hearts in it, with the together apart symbol on it. So if people are driving around, are taking a walk with their family, this is a great thing for them to look at. How many have you sold so far? And

spk_0:   8:58
what's

spk_1:   8:58
the price point?

spk_0:   8:59
They are $8 apiece, plus the shipping, and I think we've sold 35 okay, In the beginning, I wasn't really thinking it was more of just like something nice to put out there. But then as people started purchasing them because I'm coming from a gamer interactive sort of background, I started thinking how we make this fun. And I started challenging. Let's try to get one in every state. Great. Okay, Yes, I think we're in six states at this point, and that's just kind of fun. It's nice to kind of keep track of that and get excited when a new state cops up and give them the recognition that they're the first in their state tohave it.

spk_1:   9:36
Well, that's great. But I'd like to see it all over here so we can find them everywhere

spk_0:   9:42
we go.

spk_1:   9:42
So who can I share this with? That you would think would be beneficial. Have you done anything on next door? Are you familiar with the next door platform?

spk_0:   9:51
Yeah. I have not done anything on the next story up.

spk_1:   9:53
Well, I think I'm gonna order one, and then I'll put it on my next door. And then maybe Do you have Maryland yet?

spk_0:   9:59
No, I don't have Maryland. You know, it's really good for communities. I have a lot of that by multiple of them. I had a woman in the morning. She bought five and she said, I've handed them out through my community and people are just loving them. Okay? They're really nice in places where the families can get out and walk safely and go around. And it turns into kind of, ah, experience for the family every night to go through and see who has the heart sub. And then to remember that there's one coming up. Let's look for this one. So it turns into right of fun activity for the family.

spk_1:   10:35
I had heard some rumor. There was some state that they were putting teddy bears and windows that when families were out walking,

spk_0:   10:43
they spot

spk_1:   10:44
the teddy bear. That kind of like that?

spk_0:   10:46
Yes, yes, yes.

spk_1:   10:47
So I'm really excited. We're getting this story A. And I hope we get a lot more in our area. I heard on my think it was maybe and evergreen or one of the community is one of the gated communities. They started painting rocks with hearts on him. So the kids

spk_0:   11:03
you've

spk_1:   11:03
heard of that rock thing before

spk_0:   11:05
that

spk_1:   11:05
I think this is special because you can put it in your yard and show that you're being safe. But still concerned about neighbors and such.

spk_0:   11:14
Jupiter Farms is a community that has really taken off with the hearts have seen.

spk_1:   11:19
That's wonderful.

spk_0:   11:20
Yeah, I've seen a lot of parts that way.

spk_1:   11:22
Okay. I love Jupiter Farms. Maybe I'm gonna have to go take a ride out there and see if I could see any heart. And do you have a Facebook page? Looks like you might You just have your Jupiter signs? Facebook page. But you don't have one for together apart yet.

spk_0:   11:38
I do not have one for together apart, but I could create it. But I didn't really know how this was going to go.

spk_1:   11:44
Okay. All right. Well, I think that it would be nice to people

spk_0:   11:48
if

spk_1:   11:48
they see one to take a picture and be able to share it on your site. No, They can at least go to your son in sight for now. On that Facebook got calm. Backsplash. J u p signs corrupt. Are you guys in Jupiter Farms yourself?

spk_0:   12:04
We're in Jupiter.

spk_1:   12:05
Okay, I'm in the garden, so I'm close. A pregnant. Well, I'm that what's really exciting? Anything else that you'd like me to share about together, apart or any of your business is

spk_0:   12:15
you know, I just think we're kind of in business of creating memories in creating experiences for people. We just, you know, even with legends, our main goal is always to create a great experience. Something that you're gonna take with you and remember, You know, in a year from now when you celebrated your birthday, this just kind of fell right in suit When everything shut down, we're not able to operate at this time. I was looking for something to kind of replace that. Feel good. That's feel good moment when I turn up. Okay. We definitely

spk_1:   12:45
need it now. We definitely need it. I'm in on anything else that you can say about Palm Beach County and why you're passionate for it. I'm glad you made this choice to live here,

spk_0:   12:54
So it's been 10 years now. We've been here. We haven't regretted the minute of it. We actually we started in West Palm Beach in Northwood was where we bought our first home. Allowing

spk_1:   13:05
an interesting area.

spk_0:   13:07
Yeah, And then six years ago, we moved to Jupiter, which has just been amazing the community's air. Great. You were close to the ocean. We go pre coded. We would go to the ocean every morning for a walk. And that's something that, you know, you take for granted. Now that we can't do it, we're like climbing the walls.

spk_1:   13:27
Well, that's kind of what I feel like when this is all over. We're gonna appreciate what we have. You know, I think the allergies are getting me a little bit. Was sitting outside last night looking at that beautiful moon on the pollen is very I But I think this is gonna change the whole permanently in a better way. You know, I think that once we get through this, we're gonna be so thankful that we're gonna take advantage more of what we have. I find a lot of Floridians. They forget

spk_0:   13:54
to

spk_1:   13:54
go to the beach.

spk_0:   13:54
It's right

spk_1:   13:55
around the corner. I don't think that I find that when I talked to people on, they ask them about their experience moving here. Most of the time they say, I wish I would have done it sooner. Well, on that note, it was really nice visiting with you today, and I'm excited to plan some activities when this is all over, and if you need anything, please reach out. And it was great talking to you. And you want to

spk_0:   14:20
say

spk_1:   14:20
where they confined. You really quip

spk_0:   14:22
the hearts are there's a link that while post or is posted on the Jupiter signs page. And then it's just Jupiter signs or troops signs, I think on Jupiter. Signs of service is on Facebook.

spk_1:   14:36
Okay, Great. And I guess you're on etc. For the horse.

spk_0:   14:39
Yes. I'm

spk_1:   14:40
gonna shares it on our Facebook page. I love Palm Beach and all the Put it in the notes for the pod counts.

spk_0:   14:46
It's

spk_1:   14:46
okay again.

spk_0:   14:47
Thank

spk_1:   14:48
you so much. And I'm going to get my heart ordered. Okay.

spk_0:   14:51
